Negative Emotions Can Be Toxic

Your emotions play an important role in your overall health.  Everyone has dealt with anger and negative emotions, we’re all human of course.  How we deal with these emotions can effect our health.

I’m sure we’ve all heard that we should never hold a grudge or hold anger against someone because it takes energy to remain upset. This is so true!

Focusing on that anger will wear your health down.

What are negative emotions doing to you on the inside?

Negative thoughts and emotions cause tension in muscles and tighten up organs in the body.  This built up tension in the muscles and organs use up energy in the body which can weaken your immune system.

This tension can also constrict the blood, energy, oxygen and vital nutrients from getting to your organs.

Negative emotions can also cause a blockage in your digestive system.  How many times have you been unable to eat when your upset?  Your stomach feels like it’s twisted in knots.  Some people eat when they’re upset but your food isn’t being digested properly.

When your dealing with negative emotions it can cause a blockage in your digestive
system.  Your digestive system can slow down keeping food from moving through your digestive tract.

Your food feels like a big lump sitting in your stomach.  If your food stay sitting in your stomach in this negative state, it begins to ferment and become purified, poisoning your system by becoming toxic.

Your respiratory system becomes disrupted causing problems with your breathing.  Your cells become deprived of oxygen increasing carbon dioxide levels.

This blockage also interferes with your circulatory system.  The tension disrupts the function of your heart which can weaken the blood vessels, cause hypertension and keep nutrients from reaching cells.

Stress is bad!

Negative emotions produce stress and cause an increase ofadrenal hormones being secreted into
the blood.  Usually when this happens our muscles would burn up the excess hormones by increasing your physical activity.  You would either run or fight.

Nowadays people aren’t as quick to act on negative emotions physically. If your boss embarrassed you in front of other employees, you may want to punch him in the mouth but you keep your anger inside.

Someone cuts you off on the highway, you really want to ram the back of their car.  You may call them a jerk when you pass by but that anger is still inside of you and it may fester for awhile.

Large amounts of hormones are secreted when you become angry and upset and are not
being burned off by your muscles or used in digestion.  It can cause damage to different organs

Unaddressed and suppressed emotions are a huge reason for unbalance in organs.

Anger can:

  • Disrupt the function of the liver and bladder.
Increase blood pressure and can cause a heart attack.

Negative emotions can change from one emotion to the next.  Sadness can become depression.  Impatience can turn to anger.  Unaddressed anger becomes hurt.  All these negative emotions poison our bodies which can then destroy our organs.

The solution to the problem with negative emotions is to channel that negative energy into
positive actions.

What should you do?

There are several things that can be done to remove negative thoughts and emotions.  I know for myself it is very difficult to get past deep hurts and anger.  Here are some things that have helped me move on and not dwell on the negative emotions.

  • Forgiveness – This is one of the hardest things to do but it can free you from a lot of stress and anger.  Plus, God wants us to forgive those who do us wrong.  The person who hurt us has control when we hold on to hurt and anger because we cannot function due to what they did to us.  Forgiveness frees us from that stronghold and allows us to get on with our lives.
  • Relaxation – We need to calm down and relax.  Becoming upset causes our heart to race, secretes excess adrenaline, and creates anxiety and tension in our organs.  Relaxation releases the tension and pressure.  Special exercises can be done to loosen the muscles in our neck and shoulders.
  • Praying – removes the problem from you and puts it in the hands of someone who has the strength to deal with our problem.  God is bigger than our situation and he can remove the stress if we take our problems to him and leave them there.
  • Warm Baths- help to soothe and calm us.
  • Breathing exercises - help to release the tension and get our heart rate back to normal.
  • Walking – helps to remove the excess adrenal hormones from our system by allowing our muscles to burn it up.  This keeps it from staying in our bodies and creating toxins.

These are just a few things to help keep your emotions in check.  To learn more about how negative emotions and special exercises that can help keep them under control, sign up for our newsletter.

The Healing Properties Of Beets

beetsBeets were not alway my favorite vegetable.  When I was a kid, we would have dinner over my grandmother’s house and she would sit them on the table with the rest of the meal.  Thinking they were cranberry sauce I put some on my plate and then realized I had made a mistake.  I didn’t care for the weird texture and flavor.

As an adult I only like beets in juicing form.  I like them because of their great healing properties.  After going to different naturopathic doctors’ who found my liver to be clogged, I decided to research some ways to help clean my liver.

I found that beets are an excellent blood cleaner, they are high in minerals that strengthen the liver and gall bladder.  Excellent!  Beets contains a good source of soluble and insoluble fiber that will help to keep the intestinal track running smoothly.

Beets  also contains dietary nitrate that has been found in green and leafy vegetables which effectively help reduce blood pressure.

Beet are an alkaline vegetable which our bodies need.   They’re high in vitamin B too.  Actually there are more nutrients in the beet tops than the actual beet, so when I juice them I make sure that I add the stems.

The real proof in the beets came when I went to my endocrinologist.  He had been trying to persuade me to have surgery for my thyroid, since I suffer from hyperthyroidism.  I told him I in the previous office visit that I refused to have surgery to remove my thyroid and I would be trying natural remedies.

When I went to my next appointment he told me that my thyroid levels were near normal and that whatever I was doing,  keep doing it because it was working.   That’s the best news I’ve gotten since I began this journey and this is only the beginning.

I look forward  to reversing my Type 1 diabetes too.  With the information I’ve learned it is going to happen.  Stay tuned because I am going to be posting the Five vital things you need to do in order to reverse diseases.  If you follow these steps you will be disease free.

My Hyperthyroidism Story Pt. 2

Let’s jump to 2009,  I was still dealing with my off and on boughts with hyperthyroidism which was diagnosed as Graves Disease.  I would continue with my natural treatments that would get me on the medication track to get me over the hump.   My doctor was concerned about my being on the methimazole because it can destroy the liver.  Ironic huh!  My blood tests had come back that the medication had brought my levels down some but not a whole lot.  The doctor wanted to increase my medication from 30 mg to 60 mg a day.   I had already prayed for healing and that the medication would not affect my liver but be used along with my natural remedies.  I decided that I wasn’t going to increase my dose.

I began juicing using  beets and their stems,  carrots,  apples and cabbage.  I drank this every morning for a month. The following month I  went to the doctor and he was surprised that my thyroid levels were almost near normal and my goiter had gone down considerably.  He told me that the medication was not affecting my liver at all.  He informed me to keep doing what I was doing because it was working!

I was happy to hear that, but not surprised because there are natural ways to deal with health issues.  Modern medicine has brainwashed people into thinking that the only way to get well is to kill the problem with toxic medications, expensive surgeries and radio active treatments that horrible side affects and many times deadly result.

I feel better and definitely look better as a result of juicing and taking my vitamins, eating right and exercising.  These things are vital to good health and have been around for a long time.  Our bodies are made up of different vitamins, minerals and nutrients that are necessary for proper daily function.

When we become sick and have disease it is a result of our bodies becoming depleted in these minerals, nutrients and vitamins.  Our bodied are left susceptible to many dangers.  The depletion is caused by various toxins, environmental pollutions, stress, lack of sleep and poor food choices.  Our organs become clogged and cannot function at the proper levels to remove waste and purify the blood.  This depletion of vital nutrients and a clogged system is what can cause the body to be invaded by dangerous free radicals, cell mutation, tumors and cancers and many other deadly diseases.

I am going to share some of the things I’ve learned like cleansing,  juicing, eating certain foods and taking vitamins and minerals that helped get my health on track and shock my doctors’.  These simple natural remedies can turn around health problems you may be going through and save you money on expensive treatments and doctors visits, but most importantly have you feeling better and living a better quality of life.

My Hyperthyroidism Story Pt.1

Back in 2004 , I had gotten on a health kick to lose weight to get rid of those extra 30 pounds left over from baby weight…even though my baby was 5 years old at the time.  I had exercised using  videos and my treadmill.  I was losing about 1 or 2 pounds a week.  It wasn’t until a few months later that I noticed I had dropped 20lbs in a weeks time that I began to wonder what was going on.  I also noticed that when I woke up to get my son ready for school my heart was beating extra fast and I was sweating for no apparent reason.  At age 32, something wasn’t right.

I finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.  The doctor had prescribed methimazole for the hyperthyroidism along with suggesting all the typical treatments such as radioactive iodine and surgery to remove the thyroid gland. I was dead set against any of these solutions, because I believe that taking these drastic measures wasn’t addressing the real issue of my problem.  I stayed on the medication for a few month and my condition improved a little and not without side effects.   My neck began to swell.   I hated having to take the medication so I stopped taking it.

Over the next few months, my condition came back, my goiter enlarging, the weight loss, sleepless nights due to my heart racing .  I began reading up on various natural hyperthyroidism remedies and started trying them.  I started using thyroid tinctures, taking large amounts of vitamins, eating kelp.  These things would work somewhat but I grew tired of trying to figure out how to find that fine line of balance for a disease that  is so unbalanced so I eventually gave up.   I would dread going  back to my doctors’ appointment to hear my doctor say “I told you so”.  Their solution was really going to be a cure all.  Cutting something out does not explain what caused the problem in the first place.  I needed answers and I needed them quickly.

So my journey began after countless hours online,  reading books, going to naturopathic doctors.  I discovered that thyroid problems begin with the liver. Our livers are one of the most overworked organs in the body. Being the largest organ in the body, it is responsible for maintaining over 500 body processes. From metabolizing fats, carbohydrates and proteins that we eat, to storing the vitamins, minerals and sugars we eat and converting them into usable material for our bodies, that’s a lot of work for one organ.

Not to mention, the liver creates bile, which helps filter toxins out of the body. The most important function of the liver is to protect our bodies from poisoning. When the liver becomes overworked and clogged with toxins it can’t function at its best. Once that happens, it opens the door to illness and disease. When the liver becomes clogged it also affects all functions in the body including the thyroid

I was onto something.  Now to work on getting my liver healthy so that I could get my thyroid healthy……
